HRABOVA ROZTOKA: Church of St. Basilius the Great (middle of the 18th century)
|St. Basilius the Great was the "cezarej" archbishop and he lived from 329-379. The log building is situated on the higher slope above the village. The construction stands on the stone foundation and it is completed with a high saddle roof with two towers. The outer walls are covered with plates. The roof is of hand made shingles. The complex of the church is surrounded by the fence. The fence is also covered with a narrow shingle roof. The entrance two-wing gate is completed with the cross.
The nave is relatively narrow. Because of that the last row of the iconostasis - the picture of the prophets - is situated on the ceiling covered with plates.
The Baroque iconostasis is from the 18th century. The icon of the Crucifying is on the altar in the sanctuary.
